Welcome to Thy Refuge!
Thy Refuge was founded by Robin Desta with a noble cause to assist homeless people in Los Angeles, California with affordable housing and resources. We are a normal group of women who are just trying to, with God’s help; make a positive change for our community.
What led to our inception?
We can encourage everyone to take time to acknowledge the increasing homeless population. There are thousands of people, in LA alone, that are without any access to the basic necessities of life. They live on the streets or makeshift shelters. Everywhere you look: sidewalks, freeway ramps, bushes, you can find homeless people residing, seeking shelter.
The increasing homelessness is not limited to LA; it also exists in Beverly Hills, Santa Barbara, Martha’s Vineyard, and throughout the entire country.
What is the solution?
As a 501(c)(3) Foundation and a group of responsible citizens, we truly feel that homelessness is a fundamental human issue. It’s a crucial problem that needs to be addressed with compassion and given attention, proper planning, and problem-solving efforts.
Together, we can make someone’s life better!
Currently, we are looking at brick and mortar as well as container homes and communities or both. It is important to us that they are environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
